- I really love this series that I actually began reading a very long time ago, causing me to forget the names of mates and everybody, but luckily I appreciate the fact that the author reminds us throughout the story of who's who. The world building is very well constructed, and the wide cast of characters truly added to the plot line. Shawn and Gabriel (wolf shifter) are mates who have to find a way to deal with their personal issues, as well as their relationship as a whole. I didn't like Gabriel much at all in the beginning, since he kept emotionally closing himself off to Shawn and not communicating with him. He wouldn't even answer simple questions, which had me on edge. ) I love mother Estelle (witch) and everyone who lives with her. They're super supportive and compassionate towards one another, and the teasing that they do is adorable. There are other matings going on, and some that have to wait (poor fellas) for one reason or another. This was an action packed, and overall, a very delightful read. )
- I love how this series combines both the romance of the principle characters in each book with the overall plot. Both story arcs work seamlessly together without one overpowering the other.
Gabe was exactly the best mate for Shawn. His stubbornness perfectly matched Shawn's snarky posturing and need for stability. - I loved it. With each story in the series you get to know more of each character and their story. Gabriel's hard external with a soft spot for Shawn. This has some smokin sexy scenes thats gorgeous. With the war looming over them some of them find their mates. I loved Forrest finding his mate, also Jules finds his love and totally want to see what happens with Jules.
Shawn was being held prisoner by Nicolono the vampire leader after attempting to flee with his freind Lucas being rescued.
All hope drained he thought he was going to die. A big Wolf came to his aid. In days after his rescue by Gabriel a big wolf shifter Shawn still suffers from might mares. Gabriel knows Shawn is his mate, but fights it and wont give in. Shawn's health is failing but there's a suprise i wasn't expecting at all.. A fantastic story that follows. - Love this series. From the beginning. Each character has been there from the very beginning, so you get their back story. So when they find their happy every after your just to excited for them. Shawn is a bit of a mouth, but he hides behind his mouth because of the hurt of his life. Gab is his mate, a wolf shifter who has a as well. You see how they handle their past in order to come to the love they have for one another. The battle is still continuing and you find out a bit more info on what's happening. Recommending this story but read from the beginning to get the full back story. AWESOME series. Looking forward to many many more from this author.
- Rating 3.5 stars. I really like this continuing Saint Lakes saga. It started a bit slow for me. Shawn and especially Gabriel were not very likable in the beginning. They grew on me though, the more I read. Shawn especially. Also, we continue to find out more about the conflict between the shifters and the vampires. I was highly entertained throughout this book and I am looking forward to reading future installments. If you haven't read any of the previous books in this series, I recommend starting with book 1. I think you will be a bit lost otherwise.
(Read through 's KU program) - The continuing saga of Gabriel, Bennett , Ramsey and their shifter family including their mates Lucas, Shawn and Sage. A very well developed group of plotlines that continue to evolve through the first three books of this series. The characters are complex, strong and sympathetic.
This book is primarily the story of Gabriel and Shawn. Rescued from Nicolino and the vampires Shawn mates with Gabriel and joins the shifter family.
This is an exciting and compelling book. It was hard to put down and makes me look forward to future books. - Gabriel and myself had a love/hate relationship for the first 35% of the book. Shawn on the other hand was the comic relief and spitfire all rolled into one.
The war with Stavros is heating up and the family is pulling together so they can win this war. Gabriel and Shawn are great together after the first 35% of the book. Gabe was a douche rejected his mate but Shawn being the spitfire that he is put Gabriel in his place.
On to the next book! - I didn't think it was possible but April Kelley made me like Shawn. I so wasn't feeling him after book one but after learning his history I understand him better. He and Gabriel were perfect for each other. Now on to book 4.😄
